The Turf Shed is a group of seven traditional musicians based in West Clare who came together in 2020 to play music when live events were at a standstill due to the Covid pandemic. Collectively, the group members have many years of experience playing music as well as teaching, arranging and composing music for performance. Containing tracks played in a traditional style and some imaginative arrangements, this collection will highlight the wealth of music in the area of West Clare, in particular the places and townlands that inspired the music. It draws from local musicians and composers whose legacy has shaped the musical landscape of the area including Willie Clancy, Bobby Casey and Junior Crehan.
